Ilona and Matt's wedding

This past weekend we traveled to Goshen, Indiana for my cousin Ilona's wedding. She met Matt on E-harmony last fall and they quickly connected and were engaged this spring. When we got to the church there was this awesome tandem bike sitting in the entry way and was painted in Hawkeye Gold and was decorated with Tiger Hawks. Later we found out that Matt (who works at an antique store) had traded something for this bike and surprised Ilona by refinishing it and decorating it with the Iowa Hawkeyes. It was pretty cool to see and they are looking forward to taking it on some bike trails during their honeymoon! The ceremony was very nice and we had a blast at the reception. We enjoyed a wonderful dessert bar, with all the pies, cookies, rolls and other items made by Alice, Ilona's mom. You just can't find better pie or rolls from anyone else.
During the weekend we were also able to spend time with Aunt Barb and Uncle Ron and their boys Ross, Andrew and Spencer. We had a great time with both sides of the family and we are very excited for Matt and Ilona in this new journey of their lives. Congrats to you both!

Bible School Program

Tori was able to attend Bible School for the first time this year at East Union. She had a great week and enjoyed the Rain forest theme. When Aaron asked her who made the rain forest she said "The men made it." Her friend Peyton came with her each day and they had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the program at church on Sunday morning.

Wedding Shower

A few weeks ago we had a Wedding Shower for Ilona and Matt who are getting married next weekend in Goshen. We had a great time with the Schrock family and had a great time celebrating with Ilona and Matt. We started out the evening with dinner and then moved on to the game that mom had prepared. We had Ilona and Matt sit back to back and gave them each a rolling pin and a hammer. Mom had a list of different things that would need to be done around the house or different errands that would need to be done and Ilona and Matt had to decide who they think would do those different things. If they thought Ilona would do the things they would hold up the rolling pin. If Matt would do them they would hold up the hammer. It was fun to see what they thought and they agreed on many of the items. We ended the evening with the couple opening gifts. It was a great night and fun to get together!
